Thrilled to be Three: One Thing Remains

Every weekend my three-year old goes to the grocery store with me. An excellent companion, we have a great routine that includes a cookie, food sampling from the H-E-B Cooking Connection, and coffee and/or wine sampling (for mom). Sometimes one of the older sisters accompanies us, but today we were alone.
Singing throughout the grocery store.

This past Sunday he loudly serenaded customers across more than half the store with:

His Love never fails, it never gives up, it never runs out on me.
His Love never fails, it never gives up, it never runs out on me.
His Love never fail, it never gives up, it never runs out on me.
His Love.

And On and On and On and On it Goes.
Till it Overwhelms and Satisfies my Soul
And I’ll never ever have to be afraid.
‘Cause One Thing…. Remains!”

We received many looks and several compliments. A man looked up, smiled and nodded. A lady told him not to stop, always keep singing. Another came over and said how much she loved the joyful faith of a child.
It reminded me of the Gospel reading from two weeks ago,

[Jesus] said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Amen I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.”  (Mark 10: 14-15)

There was my son. So carefree. Not worried about what anyone else thought. Just living his simple child faith out loud for others to witness.
