Did you Hear the News?

The Pope now has an app for your iPhone and Facebook! Yesterday, the Vatican launced a new website Pope2You.net which includes a WikiCath, iPhone app, Facebook app and the Vatican’s YouTube channel. The release is in conjunction with The Vatican’s World Communications Day this Sunday, which is devoted to communicating the gospel with new technologies
“The Church is very conscious that there is a new culture of communication in today’s world. It is a new way of communicating among young people, and the new portal is a way of engaging in that. Today there’s a new digital continent in need of evangelization. In past centuries the Church went to the new continents to bring them Christ’s message; today we go online.”

Monsignor Paul Tighe, secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications (PSCC)

As of today, the Apple Store has not made the new iPhone app, H20News, available for download. The current message is that it will be available in the next few days. The Facebook app is up and running.
